Rain and t-storms move through Mid-Missouri Tuesday night.

A cold front will send a line of showers and storms into Mid-Missouri Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This line will move in after midnight and move out of Mid-Missouri by mid-morning Wednesday. As the line approaches, storms will be stronger in northwestern Missouri as they move into Chariton, Saline and Macon counties. Isolated storms with small hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible but storms are expected to weaken as they move east.

Severe weather is not expected Tuesday night but you might hear some thunder in the middle of the night. Most areas west of HWY 54 will be dry by 7 AM Wednesday but areas farther south and east could still have some rain for the morning commute.

The line of rain moves out of Mid-Missouri by 9 AM as the cold front pushes east but a few spot showers are possible behind the front through early afternoon. Rainfall amounts are expected to come in around a quarter to a half inch with highest amounts where thunderstorms move through.
