Lincoln University search committee set to meet as search for new president continues
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Lincoln University leaders plan to meet via Zoom on Thursday as the search for a new president continues after Jerald Woolfolk announced she would be leaving the position in May.
The meeting comes two years after Woolfolk was inaugurated in 2019, with the University spending over $35,000 on the celebration.
The most recent LU president, according to Missouri's Secretary of State's Official Manual or 'blue book' made $240,000 a year.
Woolfolk had served as president since 2018 after former president Dr. Kevin Rome announced he would resign in 2017. Rome left Lincoln University after he was named the president of Fisk University.
Thursday's meeting is expected to include drafting a position description, questionnaire, and criteria checklist for potential presidential candidates.
Misty Nunn, LU's Communications Director said, "The committee intends to have the website up following tomorrow 's meeting that will provide information on the progress and timeline," in regards to the open position.
John B. Moseley was named interim president back in May, Moseley has been Lincoln's athletic director since 2016. He has also been the head men's basketball coach since 2014.
