Voters head to polls in Missouri primary: what you need to know
Missouri’s primary officially started at 6 a.m. Tuesday. Here is what you need to know before you head out to vote:
* 24,000 registered voters in Boone County have been assigned to a different voting place this year. Be sure to check your sample ballot or go online to find out where you are supposed to be.
* City employees cannot interpret ballot language so be sure you know how you’re going to vote. You can find a detailed report on Columbia’s roll cart issue here.
* If you have recently moved, be sure your address is updated before you head out to vote. If your address is not correct, you could wind up in the wrong location.
* You can also bring one of the following to help verify your registration just in case:
-a Missouri drivers license
-a state issued identification card
-an ID issued by a Missouri institution of higher education
-ID issued by the federal government (i.e a passport)
-copy of a current utility bill or bank statement that contains the name and address of the voter.
Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m to 7 p.m.
