Tracking a hot weekend with storms next week

Today: Winds continue out of the southeast at 5-10 mph paired with mostly sunny skies to help warm Central Missouri back up into the mid-'80s.

Tonight: Winds continue out of the southeast with increasing cloud cover. Temperatures slowly fall into the lower '60s for a comfortable night.

Extended: Winds increase out of the southeast to sustained at 8-12 mph with gusts cresting into the lower '20s. Skies will remain partly cloudy as temperatures quickly ramp up into the upper '80s by game time for Mizzou's homecoming. Sunday night, a cold front begins to approach Central Missouri increasing cloud cover. Sunday night into Monday, widespread showers and storms slide through the area with chances of a few strong to severe storms with measurable amounts of rainfall. Tuesday looks to be dry with highs in the upper 70's. Wednesday, another cold front slides through bringing more chances of showers and storms but helps cool our highs back down to the lower '70s late next weekend.
