Victim dies after Camden County house fire

Officials confirm one person is dead after a house fire Friday afternoon just east of Camdenton. Crews with the Mid County Fire Protection District were called to Willow Creek Road just after 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Camden County officials said 68-year-old Marilyn Asti of Camdenton suffered critical burn injuries and was flown to University Hospital, before she died on Saturday. Two other people were treated for smoke inhalation.

The scene was cleared at 7:00 p.m. The home is considered a total loss. Investigators said the damage is so extensive, they could not find an exact cause, which has now been labeled undetermined.
