Police arrest man for January shooting in Columbia

Police have arrested 32-year-old Jermell Burnett in connection with a shooting that happened on Third Avenue last month.

ABC17 News was on the scene January 31st when police said someone shot a home near third and grand.

Several people were inside that home at the time, including children, but no one was hurt.

ABC17 News also reported in 2013 that Burnett was charged of first degree robbery. He was accused of eight robberies and thefts of central Columbia businesses within a few weeks.

Burnett is now in the Boone County Jail without bond.
