Accumulating snow possible on Sunday

Accumulating snow is possible this weekend as yet another Alberta Clipper moves into the region from the north.

As of Friday afternoon, snow is forecast to move in to northeast Missouri as an initial band dips south between 8PM and 10PM Saturday night.

This first band will mainly impact northeast Mid-MO, including Macon, Monroe, Audrain, and Montgomery counties.

More snow is expected to fill in behind this initial wave, with steady light snow filling in for areas north of I-70 through 4-6 AM.

Areas south of I-70 should expect snow to start between 6-8 AM, and exit east of Highway 54 by 1-3PM.

Southwest Mid-Missouri could see some sleet mixing in with snow late Sunday morning, including counties near the Lake of the Ozarks. This will limit snow amounts in these areas.

The highest accumulation looks to be in northeast Missouri, with Macon, Monroe, Audrain, and Montgomery counties picking up between 2-3″ of snow by Sunday afternoon, 1-2″ possible from a Keytesville to Owensville line, and 1/2″ to 1″ from a Marshall to Rolla line. Columbia and Jefferson City will be in the 1-2″ range, with about 1/2″ near the Lake.
