Boone County fair moves to Sturgeon

After months of uncertainty, the Boone County fair has a new home. The fair will move to Sturgeon.

Boone County Commissioner Janet Thompson said moving the fair to Sturgeon is a great way to showcase other parts of the county.

“It’s the county fair. The county isn’t just our county seat here in Columbia — it’s all of the county,” said Thompson.

The Boone County fair hosted its last fair at the Central Missouri Events Center in July. Currently, county officials are considering what to do with the land near Hwy 63 and Brown School Road.
