Fulton city officials confirm new fire chief hired

A new person will soon take on the leadership role as the fire chief at the Fulton Fire Department.

City officials confirmed Monday Todd Farley, of Blue Springs, Mo., will start the position starting Tuesday Jan. 16.

Former Chief Dean Buffington retired in mid-December after working at the department for 32 years, including nine as the fire chief.

His retirement was announced months after a wage dispute between firefighters and Fulton city council.
