Crash involving school bus blocks traffic in Columbia

Traffic was blocked along Vandiver Drive at Rangeline Street near I-70 after a crash involving a Columbia school bus Monday morning.

Crews diverted traffic around the scene so drivers could not head west on Vandiver Drive.

A sergeant with the Columbia Police Department tells ABC 17 News they got the call around 6:30 a.m. The crash involved one car and a school bus. There were no children on the bus, and the driver was not injured.

The car was driving south on Rangeline when it took a left hand turn in front of the school bus, which was heading north. The school bus hit the car when the car failed to yield.

The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police and members of the Columbia Fire Department both responded. Officials are not saying the crash was weather related.
