Police investigate overnight shooting in north Columbia

Columbia police investigated a shooting in north Columbia early Sunday morning.

Police responded to reports of gun shots near the 700 block of Big Bear Boulevard around 1:00 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found multiple shell casings and a car with a flat tire with two bullet holes in it. Police were not able to find the owner of the vehicle or any witnesses.

Many businesses along Big Bear Boulevard were closed at the time of the shooting. Sidelines Sports Bar was open, but an employee tells ABC 17 News no on inside the bar heard the gunfire.

A sergeant with the Columbia Police Department confirms officers temporarily shut down part of Big Bear Boulevard while they investigated the incident.

A viewer sent ABC 17 News the attached picture of police while they were on the scene.

Police do not have any suspect information.
