Sprinkler malfunction at Columbia’s city hall

Investigators are working to find out how much damage was done after a sprinkler head malfunction at Columbia’s city hall Monday night.

It happened at 7:40 p.m. Columbia fire crews responded to find water coming from a sprinkler head in the city council chamber’s overflow room.

A second leak was also found in the IT room where computers are kept. Two additional fire crews were called to help clean up the water.
