Cold Front Will Bring a Chance For Flurries Monday Evening

After a day of dry weather across Mid-Missouri, rain chances will return to the forecast starting late Sunday night and early Monday morning as a low pressure system currently exiting the southeastern Rockies slides eastward into the Midwest.

There is a chance for light drizzle to begin as early as 3AM for the western third of Mid-Missouri. The precipitation is expected to have spread eastward into the central portion of our region by 7AM tomorrow morning, intensifying slightly from drizzle to light rain showers.

As the system pulls to the east by Monday evening, it will bring most of the precipitation along with it. However, lingering precipitation on the backside of the area of low pressure is anticipated. Seeing as cooler air from the north will be budging its way into the region following the previous passage of the associated cold front, there is a chance for lingering showers to transition into light snow.

Areas mainly to the north of HWY 50 have the best chance to see this occur, but due to the fast moving nature of this system, little to no accumulation is expected. All precipitation is anticipated to come to an end by Tuesday morning.
