Police respond to reports of shots fired in central Columbia

Columbia Police were called to the scene of a possible shots fired incident on the west end of the Business Loop in Columbia Thursday morning.

Officers were searching areas around the U-Haul and Days Inn around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, but were not able to find any shell casings or property damage. Witnesses’ descriptions about a suspect vehicle have also proven inconsistent.

Several witnesses told officers they saw two men in a verbal argument with at least one person inside a vehicle. They saw they the men and a least a one person inside the car pull out guns and began shooting at each other.

The suspects fled the scene before police arrived on scene.

A sergeant on scene told ABC 17 newsno one was hurt during the incident. Right now, there is no suspect information.
