Columbia police investigate car shootout

Columbia police are investigating after reports of two vehicles’ occupants exchanging gunfire Monday night.

Police say callers reported seeing people in two cars shooting at each other in the 1700 block of Perkins, near McKee Street, just after 10 p.m.

Neighbors tell ABC 17 News they heard at least 10 shots fired.

Investigators also found several shell casings at the scene.

ABC 17 News confirmed two houses and three cars were hit. At this time there are no reported injuries.

Officers said the two cars continued to shoot at each other as they drove down Alan Lane and Mckee Street and then fled the area.

Right now, the only description of the cars involved is that they were both sedans. Witnesses were not able to provide a suspect description.
