Bag vouchers sent out for trash and recycling

As the debate on roll carts continues in Columbia, officials have sent out new bag vouchers for residents’ trash and recycling.

The coupons should start arriving in the mail next week.

You can redeem them for both blue and black bags at one of four stores including Ace Hardware, Gerbes, Hyvee, Mosers, and Schnucks.

This year, the city is now accepting all plastic numbers between 1 and 7.
