Crews shutting down one road for entire winter in Cole Co.

Crews in Cole County are shutting down a road due to dangerous and slippery conditions during winter about 20 minutes west of Jefferson City.

The public works department said it will close the 1300 block of Murphy’s Ford Road at North Moreau River on Thursday between Centertown and Lohman.

The road is usually impassable when winter conditions make the hill icy.

It will remain closed until April.
