Winds From The South Will Bring Warmer Temperatures, But Gusty Conditions Sunday

On Saturday night into Sunday, low pressure is expected to strengthen over Kansas, causing the surface pressure gradient to tighten. In response, winds are expected to pick up out of the south, with speeds ranging from 13 to 20 miles per hour. The strongest winds will be in the afternoon hours, where we could see gusts up to 32 miles per hour.

This southerly wind will advect warmer air into Mid-Missouri, causing temperatures to rise well above average, with day-time highs reaching the mid to upper 50s. In addition, it will also usher moisture into the region, which will interact with a weak cold front that will sweep through the area Sunday night, bringing light showers to our region.
