Man arrested, charged in stabbing in Callaway County

A man has been arrested and charged following a stabbing that happened Tuesday night near Holts Summit.

26-year-old Michael Rushing of Stafford, Missouri is charged with first and second degree assault, as well as armed criminal action.

One person was taken to the hospital following the attack.

The 22 year-old went to a Jefferson City hospital inside an ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.

Multiple people were in the area at the time of the fight.

There was large law enforcement presence on Meller Road just off Route AA near Holts Summit around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
