Quick cool-down, warming weekend

Much colder air will briefly settle over Mid-Missouri Wednesday night through Friday bringing temperatures back down to more seasonal numbers. Wednesday will be a transition day as the colder air moves in with high temperatures in the low to mid 40s, dropping to the upper 20s by Thursday morning.

Thursday looks chilly as temperatures stay in the 30s most of the afternoon as clouds move through late in the day. Clouds will clear Thursday night as temperatures drop into the mid 20s but the westerly breeze will make it feel more like the upper teens by early morning Friday.

You’ll need the winter coat Friday as temperatures start off in the mid 20s with wind chills in the upper teens. Afternoon temperatures will only reach the upper 30s with wind chills in the mid to upper 20s Friday afternoon as winds increase to 15 mph from the west.

Temperatures will quickly warm for the weekend as winds shift to the south ahead of our next storm system which will send some light rain into the area Sunday night.
