Warm temperatures, rain moves in Saturday night

Warm above average temperatures are expected through the weekend as southerly winds continue ahead of our next low pressure system.

A cold front will approach Saturday night, and sweep through Mid-Missouri on Sunday, bringing a good dose of rain and changing temperatures.

Saturday will be the warmest of the next 7 days, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s. Spot showers are possible during the day, but the afternoon will be mainly dry with clouds hanging around.

Rain approaches from the west Saturday night by around 8 p.m. in our western counties along Highway 65.

Rain will be steady and reach the Highway 63 corridor by 10 p.m. Saturday, with the heaviest rain falling after midnight through Sunday morning.

Expect light to moderate rain through Sunday night, with 1″ to 2″ possible through early Monday.

Lingering showers on the back side of low pressure could also have some snow flurries mixed in, especially north of Highway 24 as temperatures fall into the mid-30s Monday morning.
