A few strong storms possible Saturday

A strong low pressure system is developing to our southwest that will pull in quite a bit of moisture for the weekend.

This low pressure system will start to approach the area Friday night, bringing a few spot showers, but the bulk of the rain and thunderstorms is expected by Saturday evening.

A strong cold front will move through Saturday night into Sunday, bringing the possibility of a few strong storms.

There will be minimal instability, but wind shear will be high, meaning we will have a better chance of seeing isolated damaging winds than any other mode of severe weather.

This system is expected to pull in quite a bit of Gulf moisture, so measurable rain is highly likely Saturday and Sunday.

Areas south of I-70 will see the most; with between 1.5″ and 2.5″ possible. Along and north of I-70, you can expect 1″ to 1.5″ by Monday morning.
