Accident on I-70 backs up traffic

Traffic was backed up on I-70 eastbound Tuesday morning because of a crash.

The crash happened at the Stadium exit near mile marker 124 on I-70. Westbound traffic cleared around 8:30 a.m.

The crash occurred when a tractor trailer veered into another lane, pushing a car into the barrier. No one was injured.

Crews were working to contain leaking motor oil from the semi so it wouldn’t run into a nearby creek.

The two vehicles were heading westbound. The semi went off the highway into eastbound traffic, and the other vehicle went into the median on the westbound side.

The tractor trailer is a refrigerated service.

Tow trucks cleared both the tractor trailer and the passenger vehicle.

Our crews at the scene tell us officers were monitoring traffic on the highway, and two fire trucks were on scene.
