Miller Co. man arrested after leading police on chase

A Barnett man was arrested Sunday after leading police on a short pursuit through Eldon.

Officers tried to stop 34-year-old Matthew Lankford after determining he had a no bond warrant out for his arrest.

When they finally stopped Lankford, who had a male passenger, they searched the car and found several items that tested positive for meth. All of those items belonged to the passenger.

Lankford told police he only stopped because his wipers, headlights, and brakes all went out, because he knew he was going back to prison.
