Rain moves in for Thanksgiving

UPDATED AT 4 PM TUESDAY: A slow moving cold front will meet up with tropical moisture, giving us a soggy night for Thanksgiving. Light showers are possible Thanksgiving morning but the solid band of rain will stay in west-northwest Missouri for the first half of the day. Temperatures will reach the low 60s as rain increases through the afternoon, becoming likely Thursday night.

Rain will become steady after 7PM with periods of moderate rain through daybreak Friday as the cold front slowly moves through. Rain will lighten up through Friday morning as the heaviest band shifts south of I-44. Areas north of I-70 will stay dry after noon Friday while areas farther south could have lingering light rain through 6 PM.

Clouds will stick around and periods of drizzle or light rain are possible Friday night through Saturday as moisture increases from the southwest. Fortunately, temperatures are forecast to stay well above freezing Saturday through Sunday morning and all precipitation will be rain. High temperatures will reach the lower 40s this weekend with nights in the mid to upper 30s.
