Law enforcement agencies to hold training exercise in south Columbia

The Columbia Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol held a training exercise Monday afternoon.

The exercise took placenear East Tayside Circle and Carrick Court.

Neighbors saw a heavy law enforcement presence in the areastarting around noon Monday and it will until 10:00 Monday night.

Authorities said the purpose of the training is to improve scene transitions between law enforcement agencies during prolonged events.
