Columbia Taco Bell robber jumps through drive-thru window

Police say they are looking for a man who jumped through a drive-thru window in east Columbia, before escaping the Taco Bell with cash.

Officers were called around 1 a.m. Thursday to the restaurant near Stadium Boulevard and Highway 63. They claim the suspect got out of a car with a weapon, climbed in through a window and physically grabbed a worker before demanding money.

The robber then jumped into a metallic-colored, four-door car. He is described as a light-skinned man around 5’10” to 6’2″, between 180 and 200 pounds. He was wearing all-dark clothing.

No one was hurt, but the case remains active. Anyone with information can call the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
