Jefferson City Council approves stop sign for intersection

The Jefferson City Council met Monday night to discuss several issues.

Members approved a stop sign at Oakridge Drive and Timber Trail at the intersection with Cedar Hill Road. The four-way intersection is located near Cedar Hill Elementary School. Officials received complaints about vegetation growth making it difficult to see.

The council also tabled an issue on a proposal to vacate Chestnut Street near Lincoln University. The council received a draft resolution, which will be voted on at the next meeting, Dec. 7.

Lincoln University has requested the vacating of Chestnut Street to enhance student safety.
