Impersonator causes building evacuation at Budget Inn
Boone County fire crews and deputies responded Friday night to a call for a gas leak at the Budget Inn at Midway.
When they arrived it was apparent that there was no gas leak after talking to motel staff.
Battalion Chief Chuck Leake told ABC 17 News someone dressed as an official told motel management there was a gas leak and they needed to evacuate the place.
Management broke a few windows of rooms after getting people out, per that person’s orders.
About 60 people were staying in the building at the time.
