Road work continues in parts of Columbia
Road work that was scheduled to wrap up Tuesday is now getting pushed back until Friday.
Crews in central Columbia said they need more time to work on the area near Providence and I-70.
They’re burying cable and electric lines along the Business Loop.
Parts of Grand Avenue have been closed for more than a week. Officials did not expect any disruptions in service.
A different neighborhood in south Columbia is also dealing with some pavement work Thursday night.
Construction is underway at the Cascades, off Route K, which turns into Providence Road.
Parts of the street are closed until Friday afternoon.
The repairs are happening in two more phases through the rest of the month.
