NW Missouri student accused of making threats on social media

A Northwest Missouri State University student was charged Thursday after allegedly making threats on social media.

Court documents said 19-year-old Connor Stottlemyre is charged with making a terroristic threat after using the social media site Yik Yak to threaten people on the NW Missouri campus.

Stottlemyre allegedly posted, “I’m gonna shoot any black people tomorrow so be ready,” and “I love evil, I can’t wait for Northwest to make the news tomorrow.”

ABC 17 News affiliate KNPN in St. Joseph reports Stottlemyre apparently told police he was not serious about the threats, but authorities took them seriously.

Stottlemyre was arrested Wednesday morning at his dorm.

His threats came on the heels of a Wednesday arrest made in Rolla of a man accused of making threats toward students at Mizzou on Yik Yak.
