Threat for Severe Storms Wednesday

The upper level wave across the Pacific Northwest today will aid in the development of a surface low over Colorado by Tuesday night. Low level winds will kick in through Wednesday, bringing gulf moisture to the area. An unstable air mass will be in place, setting the stage for severe weather. A cold front will make it’s way in by 6-7PM. Ahead of the passing cold front will be the greatest threat from 1-7PM. All modes of severe weather will be possible with the greatest threat of damaging winds. Areas that look to be the most favorable are counties along the I-70 corridor to northwest Mid-Missouri, including the counties of Chariton, Saline, and Howard.
