Employees: Winston’s restaurant in Fulton closed due to money problems

The Winston’s restaurant in Fulton has closed its doors.

The city of Fulton confirmed the business closing on Wednesday.

According to the Fulton health officer, the business was in compliance with all codes following the last inspection.

The business was licensed to a man named Shawn Browning.

A former employee reached out to ABC 17 News Thursday and said the business closed because of money problems. That employee said Browning ran the business along with two other men by the names of Logan Sheets and Josh Sheets.

ABC 17 News found that all three men have a history of lawsuits over small claims and non-payment.

Josh Sheets pleaded guilty to second degree burglary burglary back in 2006.

Several people have reached out to ABC 17 News, saying employees were not told the restaurant was closing and they reportedly haven’t gotten paychecks.

Shawn Browning, the man who the business is licensed to, told ABC 17 News only two employees are still waiting on paychecks.

ABC 17 News reached out to the Department of Labor to see if anyone had filed complaints about not being paid, but the department said it can’t reveal whether a business has had this type of complaint.

But it said if anyone feels they are being paid incorrectly, they can fill out a Minimum Wage Complaint Form here.
