Much needed rain Friday

Since September 1st we have only received 1.22″ rain in Columbia which is 5 inches below average and moderate drought continues to expand across Mid-Missouri. Much needed rain will move in Friday as tropical moisture moves in ahead of a cold front.

Showers will move in from the west Thursday night, becoming likely west of HWY 63 by daybreak Friday. Widespread showers and a few t-storms will move through Mid-Missouri in the middle of the day Friday, heading east Friday afternoon and tapering off to spotty showers Friday evening.

Rainfall amounts of a half inch look likely for most of Mid-Missouri with some areas getting up to an inch of rain through early Saturday.
