Police: semi-truck driver cuts off van carrying disabled people, keeps driving

ABC 17 News confirmed a semi-truck driver might have cut off a van with disabled people inside, before leaving the scene of the rollover crash near the connector in Columbia.

It happened just before 2 p.m. Friday on Highway 63 near I-70 at the connector. ABC 17 News heard traffic was backed up as far as West Boulevard on I-70 eastbound.

Officers believe the driver of the van swerved to avoid the semi, which did not stop. The van hit an embankment before flipping over with six people inside, including quadriplegics from Woodhaven.

The crash remains under investigation. Stay with ABC 17 News for the latest updates on this developing story.
