Eldon man sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually abusing children

A Miller County man was sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually abusing two children under 12 years old.

A Miller County jury found Nathanial Stemmler of Eldon guilty of 4 counts of statutory sodomy after they heard evidence that he had deviate sexual intercourse with two children younger than 12 years old.

The children testified that Stemmler forced them into oral sex and other sexual acts over several years.

The judge heard from the children’s mother at sentencing and read written statements from the children, stating how the abuse has had a severe impact on their lives.

The minimum sentence was 10 years, but the prosecuting attorney asked for life in prison.
