Fire damages mobile home in Ashland

Sunday, firefighters are working to find out what caused a large fire at a mobile home in Ashland.

Southern Boone County Fire Protection District responded to a home on Eastside Drive at 12:12 p.m.

Lt. Roger Mertensmeyer said crews put out the flames within a few minutes. But firefighters stayed on the scene for several hours to make sure it did not reignite.

No one was inside the home at the time.

Mertensmeyer said the fired caused an estimated nearly $75,000 worth of damage.
