Community Health Center in Jefferson City lays off employees

After being contacted by former employees of the Community Health Center of Central Missouri, ABC 17 News has reached out to officials.

ABC 17 asked executives to comment on allegations of misused funds after former employees told us nine employees were dismissed without warning just two days before Mother’s Day.

When ABC 17 asked officials if the Board of Directors could comment on any poor financial situations, we were given the following statement:

“Community Health Center of Central Missouri has been in Mid-Missouri for 10 years and provided care to over 11,000 Missourians last year, including Dental, Medical, and Behavioral Health services. As part of an ongoing effort to continue providing exceptional care to those who need it most in our community Friday, May 8 th , 2015, we announced a reorganization plan for our facilities. This decision will ensure that we are able to provide even better access to quality healthcare for underserved Mid-Missourians by reducing administrative costs and providing more direct care to our patients.”

None of the questions ABC 17 News asked were answered, and the health center would not confirm any terminations.
