Tracking showers and storms with heavy rain into Friday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with ongoing showers and storms. Some could be strong with heavy rain and isolated gusty winds. Lows near 70 degrees. Rain amounts could reach 1-2.5".
TOMORROW: Showers and storms early, becoming scattered and more focused south of I-70 during the day. Highs in the lower 80s.
EXTENDED: Showers and storms linger overnight into Friday, with rainfall easing up into Friday night as the front slowly works south. Showers and storms will be minimal but not completely out of the question for the weekend, however, it's looking mainly dry both days with a chance of a storm or two, especially south of I-70. No severe weather is expected. A system moving to our south early next week could bring a chance for a few showers Monday, but the rest of the week is quiet and gradually getting hotter as high pressure finally works east and builds a ridge over the Midwest, keeping us drier than average for most of next week into next weekend. Temperatures will likely get back closer to 90 by Thursday or Friday.
