Macon police locate missing woman with Alzheimer’s

A Macon woman with Alzheimer’s disease who was reported missing was reunited with her family Saturday.

A woman named Janice, described as a white woman with gray hair and glasses, wandered away from downtown Macon at around 3:30 Friday afternoon.

Macon emergency crews found the woman around 10 a.m. Saturday in a building in the 100 block of Vine Street.

Police said she wandered from her car Friday, went into the building and stayed there overnight.

Multiple agencies, along with several community members, helped the Macon Police Department in the search.
