Man caught with 5 lbs. of meth worth $272,000

Members of a task force and police arrested a man on Tuesday who had roughly five pounds of meth with a street value of about $272,000.

Samuel Coleman, 32, from Pleasant Valley, Mo., near Kansas City, was charged with one count of drug trafficking.

On Wednesday his cash-only bond was set at $500,000.

Members of the East Central Drug Task Force learned a possible drug carrier was scheduled for a delivery near the Wal-Mart in Warrenton, about an hour east of Columbia.

While doing surveillance in the area, officers in Warrenton stopped a man for suspicious behavior.

Police dogs found the presence of drugs, and investigators found five plastic bags hidden inside a rear speaker, each weighing about one pound.

To date, the bust is one of the largest in Warren County.
