Four people rescued from Osage River in Cole Co.

Four people were rescued from the Osage River at the Lock and Dam in Cole County following a fishing accident.

Captain John Wheeler with the Cole County Sheriff’s Department said the four were ejected from a boat after 4:00 p.m.

Emergency crews were still at the scene near Taos just before 5:00 p.m.

It’s unclear if any of the victims were injured, or how the accident happened.

The Highway Patrol is handling the investigation, and is being assisted by Cole County and Osage County officials.
