Bitterly cold air and light snow Wed- Thu

Bitterly cold air will settle over Mid-Missouri Wednesday with temperatures starting off in the single digits and only rising into the low to mid teens in the afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Northwesterly winds at 14-18 mph will gust to 25 mph at times making it feel like 0 to -10 Wednesday.

Lows Wednesday night will drop to zero or just below zero with wind chill readings from 8 to 15 below zero through early Thursday morning. Temperatures will only warm to near 20 Thursday while another upper level disturbance spreads clouds over the area late in the day.

Forecast models show a narrow band of snow sweeping across Mid-Missouri anywhere from early evening through the overnight hours. At this time it looks like most areas will get a half inch to an inch of snow with a few pockets of two inches possible.
