Moniteau Co. prosecutor pleads not guilty to charges

Moniteau County Prosecutor Shayne Healea appeared in court for the first time Tuesday after being charged last Friday.

Healea is accused of backing into a downtown Columbia restaurant in October.

Healea was arrested after his truck crashed through a window at Addison’s on Cherry Street.

Court documents said Healea was under the influence of alcohol when the crash happened.

Four people were injured in the crash.

After hitting the building, police said Healea left the scene and parked his truck in front of the Tiger Hotel.

Healea was charged with 4 counts of 2nd degree assault, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident. Healea pleaded not guilty to those charges Tuesday.

Healea was released on recognizance and he’s scheduled to appear in court on December 2.
