Eight killed in accidents across Missouri on Sunday

Eight people died in car accidents around Missouri on Sunday. Two of those accidents happened in Mid-Missouri.

The first happened shortly after midnight in Miller County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the SUV carrying Michael Wade and Mathew Wood, both from Eldon, went off the road and flipped. Wade, 27, was thrown from the SUV. He died later at Lake Regional Hospital. Wood got moderate injuries in the accident.

The other Mid-Missouri crash happened in Camden County shortly before noon. According to state troopers, Brook Hunt from Macks Creek lost control of her truck and drove into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by another truck. Hunt, 23, died at Lake Regional Hospital. The other driver got minor injuries.

Of the other deadly accidents in Missouri on Sunday, winter weather is being cited as a factor in three. The accidents happened in Texas, Jefferson and Crawford Counties, and all involved a vehicle losing control on icy or slushy surfaces.
