Sedalia man arrested in drug bust

Sedalia police arrested a man Thursday morning for having drugs near a school. Officers accompanied by a K9 unit searched a home in the 300 block of East 13th Street at around 5:30 a.m. The house is less than 900 feet from Smith Cotton Junior High School.

In the house, the K9 unit detected the odor of narcotics. Police say they found a large amount of marijuana, along with drug packaging supplies and cash.

Officers arrested Jason Viebock for possession of marijuanam possession with intent to distribute, and distributing marijuana within 2,000 feet of a school. His bond has been set at $500,000.
