Councilman now running for Jefferson City mayor

On Monday ABC 17 News confirmed the current third-ward councilman, Bob Scrivner, is planning to run for Jefferson City mayor.

Last week Eric Struemph announced he is no longer running following a health scare with bladder cancer and his father’s deteriorating condition from Alzheimer’s disease.

The upcoming election is in April, and Struemph said he wanted to step aside to give other candidates enough time to file. The deadline is December 16.

Scrivner was born in Jefferson City and now works for Humana Insurance. He started working for MFBM Inc., a subsidiary of Missouri Farm Bureau, in 1977. He left in 1998 and got his insurance license in 2004.
