Man accused of stealing copper from site of future veterans housing
A Columbia man faces possible charges for allegedly stealing scrap metal from the site of a future veterans project off the Business Loop.
Nicholas Hock was arrested on Sunday, after police say he took copper from the old Deluxe Inn, where officials are planning to create a new housing complex for vets.
Hock was only supposed to get rid of the water heater, but investigators claim he also took wire and transformers in order to recycle the pieces for money.
