Jefferson City road project moving forward
A Cole County road construction project is moving forward. The Cole County Commissioners met Wednesday morning to vote on the Lafayette Street enhancement project.
The county and MoDOT plan to spend $1.5 million on the interchange to beautify the overpass and surrounding area. The project was approved in a 3 to 0 vote.
The Jefferson City Council has already approved their $500,000 for the project.
Presiding Commissioner Marc Ellinger told ABC 17 News this is a good example of cooperation between the city, county, and MoDOT. Construction is expected to begin in the late fall.
