Anderson officially adds Shamburger to Mizzou team
Mizzou officially adds Keith Shamburger to its roster, the school announced Tuesday. Shamburger comes from Hawaii and signed a financial aid agreement to play at the University of Missouri in the 2014-2015 season.
“Keith is going to be a great addition to our program,” Missouri coach Kim Anderson said in a statement. “He gives us some poise and experience in the backcourt and has been one of the top assist guys on his team each of his three years at the college level.”
“I’m excited to be joining Mizzou, and after playing that game in Kansas City last year, seeing the fans, seeing the support and seeing how much the players felt a part of that school, it really opened my eyes,” Shamburger said in a statement through MU. “I know Jabari Brown and we talked once I made my decision to leave Hawaii.
The guard from Los Angeles, Calif. averaged more than nine points a game with the Rainbow Warriors while dishing out more than five assists per game. He finished his junior year with 166 assists, a career high.
Shamburger will have one year of eligibility remaining, and will enroll in grad school. He is working to complete his undergraduate studies at Hawaii this summer, allowing him to be eligible for the 2014-2015 season.
